West Kirby is a great spot for tuning your kit as you're usually parked 30ft from the speed strip itself. It's also very safe being enclosed and you can touch the bottom for large parts of it. It's also bit of a wind magnet; watch out for 15mph+ Westerly forecasts on xcweather as the reality will quite often be double that (rhosniegr's wind prediction is usually a better indicator when it's westerly) - Howie Rowson

TIDE : BELOW 8.8M
''With a west to wnw flow the wall will start to be breached on an 8.8m tide. Since the wall refurb a full breach ie. unsailable, is about 9m. (Hilbre Island tide data) If the flow is square or on port, add about 0.25m. A galeforce west to wnw flow will push the tide up quicker and a tad higher probably full breach 8.7-8.8''
