quelqu'un sait si ce sont les mêmes shapes que l'année dernière ? et si c'est le cas, qu'est ce qui justifie que les planches soit 15 à 20cm plus longues que les autres de slalom ?

Hi,

Yes the boards are longer than what the other guys are doing.
It was a trend to go shorter as we found the swing weight to be less and the boards felt more alive under the foot.

However, the price to pay is that you end up with quite a lot of curve in the rocker under the mast base. This in certain conditions means that the boards bounce more and also is harder to glide onto a plane.
Both of this have been sorted out by making the tails wider. It is a good option for those who can and accept to sail over powered.
Look at todays PWA buys who ride 110L boards with 8,6 sails in 20- 25 knots of wind. with a 42-45cm fin. Fast but very hard to handle for those who are less good.

Our option to go longer means we get planing easy and accelerate very good. It allows me to have a more narrow tail with a straighter outline. This is faster.
Also a flatter rocker so it is better in chop. The longer rail line means a stabil jibe.
The same concept have proven very fast in our speed range with 4 of the top 10 times was with a Mistral production board as is the current women record.

Now that being said, in a very narrow range of conditions the shorter boards may be better but overall I am very happy with how ours ride.

Un passionné ce Anders, perso j'aime vraiment bien le personnage, dommage que la distribution de mistral ne soit pas top en France...

c'est clair sa réponse est extra. Rapidement :

Plus de longueur pour un meilleur départ planning et bonne accélération. Ca permet un tail plus etroit ce qui donne une meilleur vitesse de pointe, moins de rebond dans le clapot (rocker plus plat), un rail plus long pour un jibe plus stable.
Dans des conditions particulières les planches courtes reprennent un avantage mais pas dans l'ensemble
