Sortie dans un premier temps en Exocet RF81, Loftsails Switchblade 6.3 (2020) et Lokefoil LK1 850.

Malheureusement le vent perd en force sérieusement au bout d'une heure et il n'est plus possible de voler en 6.3.....bien dommage car avec cette nouvelle voile et un réglage efficace du foil, je commençais sérieusement à faire monter les vitesses au travers et sans jamais abattre ...ce n'est que partie remise !

Changement d'aile (1000) et essai également de mon autre nouvelle voile Loftsails Skyblade 8.0 (2020) dans du 9-13 knts...Une pure merveille...mais évidemment moins rapide.

Comme pour les vectors, ca donne de l'elasticité et de la souplesse.
Ca facilite grandement le gréage aussi.

Mais c'est pas faux les fourreaux en tissus ca pèse lourd lorsqu'il y a de l'eau dedans.

La Loftsails SpeedBlade sort de la gamme en 2020 ?

Pour en revenir aux matériaux de fourreau, les designers savent ce qu'ils font et ils sont choisis en fonction du design et de la plage de réglage de la voile.
La Switchblade a une énorme plage de réglage au guindant (une des plus grandes du marché), on peut passer d'un ballon chute tendue (relâché au guindant) à une voile très plate et très vrillée en tirant à fond.
Sur mon ancienne 7,8 il y avait jusqu'à deux crans de rallonge d'écart entre les réglages extrêmes. Si l'on utilisait autre chose qu'un tissu souple et très déformable, le fourreau serait plein de plis aux faibles tensions.
A contrario une voile de course est faite pour être utilisée à haut régime et a beaucoup moins de plage de réglage au guindant. En dessous d'une certaine tension elle n'avance plus du tout, sature et les cambers ne passent plus. Tout se joue à 1cm autour du réglage préconisé. De plus ces voiles sont majoritairement utilisées avec le mât de la marque, pas de problème de courbures plus ou moins compatibles à gérer. On peut donc utiliser des matériaux plus bloqués et plus légers sur le fourreau (films tramés) sans avoir des plis partout.
