Re: Loft Sails 2010
Managed to get out with my new Blade pentex 7.7m conditions were light 8-15knts so i used my Falcon 131,the new sails are nothing like the previous Blade models i have used the 2008-2009 Blades and the 2010 have a very different feel to them.
Easiest way to describe the feeling of the 2010 Blades is very Stable lots of Power and Drive + Speed the acceleration in the gusts is like being in a sports car the Blades have matured into a true racing design and the quality of construction is supberb

Switchblade scores in Planchemag 2010 tests http://www.loftsails.com/news.php?id=21" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The Loft Switchblade 2010 as tested in Planchemag:
The Loft Switchblade earns best marks for :
-Profile stability - Rotation -Upper end control -Middle wind range performance -Top end performance
Excerpts translated from the PM Switchblade test 2010:
Headline- "The best breathing feeling in the hands"
"...80% of Xply for reassuring construction
...one of the lightest sail of the group
...super balanced, the sail goes straight and breathes.
The sail erases the choppy water, and its profile cancels parasitic vibrations and stabilizes the board.
The RDM mast bring tolerance and a lot of comfort...
We discover the best slide and speed feeling of this test group of sails, without effort or fighting over arms. The result, The Loft SB is one of the fastest, with feeling of riding a smaller size...
The advantage, sliding work for going fast easier and longer without being tired.
The worse the conditions (strong wind and choppy water), the more we appreciate its ''absorber'' profile.
Also tested- Gaastra GTX, Gun Cannonball, Naish GP, NP RS Slalom, North Ram, P7 AC-2, Simmer SCS, XO Silver Line.

Re: Loft Sails 2010
The Loft Tekcam System by Loft sails http://www.loftsails.com/news.php?id=31
"Windsurfing masts have different diameters; reduced (RDM) and standard (SDM). Cam-equipped designs are usually SDM-specific; not compatible with RDMs.
The Loft changes all that!
The Loft Tekcams that make Blade FR, Blade RB and Switchblade designs compatible with both mast types- unique & exclusive from The Loft. SDM and RDM Tekcams are simply switched, adapting to your mast type.
RDM masts are becoming "Standard" because RDMs are skinny- a fine leading edge is fast! Additionally, RDMS are reliable- their thick mast walls not suseptible to mast deformation from cam pressure as are thin-walled SDMs.
An element of our Tekcam system is The Loft Metallic Cam Interface (MCI). The Loft MCIs eliminate deterioration of the cam-mast panel contact point.
Without MCIs, degredation occurs at the cam-mast panel interface with each sail rotation- resulting in soft mast pocket tension & reduced aerodynamics/stability.
Loft MCIs maintain mast pocket tension by preserving cam-to-mast panel contact integrity. The result is a clean, firm and stable mast pocket: aerodynamic optimization.
Another element of our Tekcam system is The Loft Tekcam spacer system. Placing spacers at each cam will firm the mast pocket and force the sail shape slightly forward- a positive effect for upper-end slalom and speed windsurfing. Spacers also allow our designs to adapt perfectly to various mast diameters; masts from various manufacturers are of varying diameters.
Tekcams are easy to rig and easy to rotate
http://www.loftsails.com/gallery.php?movie=34
Tekcam rotation ease must be experienced to be believed.
The Loft introduces sdm/rdm cam compatibility... the Tekcam system is unique!"

Re: Loft Sails 2010
Blade mast pocket construction- Unique http://www.loftsails.com/news.php?id=39
The Loft Blade mast pocket construction is different from all other full-on competition sails.
Blades are built with the mast panel AND the mast pocket sides (3 elements) included under the webbing straps that mount the stainless tack roller. This simple, unique construction equalizes tension between the three elements.
The result is pure function:
-Firm, clean leading edge for superior aerodynamics.
-Unmatched stability especially in the upper end.
-Complete, soft rotation that makes “the corners” easy.
-Longevity. The Blade mast pocket build technology eliminates fragility characteristic of other mast pocket constructions.
Blades also include Kevlar strips around the mast pocket at each cam. This Blade feature maintains the original pocket shape over time as the cams are mounted- keeping the pocket firm and clean race after race.

Re: Loft Sails 2010
Used blade 6.3 earlier this week with AB+ speed 46 and on my first run got a max speed of 46.10 knts, the sail felt sweet and the board had more speed to burn
