New Exocet Rs6 2016,tested by Patrice Belbeoch & Cedric:
We just got our first RS 6 out of the Box and we were eager to test it as soon as possible.
Thanks to Zois Theocharis our Greek dealer and also the National Greek champion Whom will be the first to get the new board
Tested in 8 to 14 knots with Cedric and Romain on the Gold 7.8, they both are pretty light sailors at 68 and 76 kg.
I also gave a go in windier condition 16 to 22 knots still on the Gold 7.8 too
Patrice
Conditions were pretty windy for this combo but the goal was to see if the board would accelerate and stay in control and it took me 2 laps to get used to sail a big board again as we had many session on the RS2. The fin used was the new Select Rhino 45 cm, the board felt really nice and balance, for sure i could have used a smaller fin around 43 maybe 41 cm for a lighter sailor but still it was easily manageable and board stayed in control. It wasn't really easy to see how quick it was going until some other slalom sailors with 7.0 and 100 liter board came around. So this board does go really fast in my opinion, to get on the plane you have to stand almost straight in the footstraps and then the board pops on the plane instantly, this was a bit of a surprise at the beginning but i got used to it very quick. So for this first test I am pretty pleased with the outcome of the comfort there was together with great performance and it seems like the right Combo on this board will be 8.4 and 9.0 for sure, with 7.8 it was really to get a first feel

When I hit the water, the wind backed off a lot, quite marginal, planning was still easy and i could see the board had lot of grip upwind, i had some really nice acceleration in few gust and the board ride right on the tail without moving, I really enjoyed the "Torro" tail as I could work the board nicely going downwind and on reaching legs too in these light wind conditions, so really enjoyed this first session
