Point-7 is very pleased to announce the addition of a new International Team rider for the upcoming season.

Martin van Meurs (NED-62) from the Netherlands will join the team, focusing the Black Power on the GPS-speedsurfing rankings. Martin has a long history in speed sailing as being the first to hit the elusive 50 knots but also with development and will join the P7 Test Team working on the new sails.

Martin: I am looking forward to an exciting season with new roads to travel. When I read about Point-7’s new design process I got very interested in the 2011 series. After the P7 crew informed me of their plans, we had some nice discussions about the future and here I am - a new P7 team rider ready to help make the sails even better, but first and foremost to show the speedsurfing movement just how fast the new sails really are. As always, the outright GPS windsurfing record will be my main focus, but I am equally looking forward to sailing in moderate wind speeds and race with and against all the other GPS riders out there in the World. After all, racing on an 8.6 is just as much GPS speedsurfing, as blasting in wind gusts up to 60 knots. As soon as I have put the sails on the water I will be available for questions

We as riders both have great passion for the sport and with Martin’s enthusiasm and focus on GPS speedsailing I'm sure our development program will really benefit from his input. "Pour Finian Maynard, les affaires sont plus complexes. Suite au départ de Dan Kaeseler de chez Gaastra, le contrat de Finian n'aurait pas été reconduit. Il serait actuellement sans sponsor voile. Bien que ce n'était semble t'il pas prévu comme cela, Muzlinger a du développer des voiles de courses pour Gaastra cet hiver et il s'est notamment entouré d'Alberto Menegati qui aurait largement participé aux tests des voiles en Sardaigne. Ce dernier passerait donc logiquement de Simmer chez Gaastra."

"Au niveau national, c’est Exocet et Xo Sails qui recrutent ! Mathieu Bonno quitte ainsi Fanatic North pour s’allier avec les bretons quand Damien Leguen se sépare de Neil Pryde et JP pour travailler comme commercial pour Exo XO et es représenter sur le championnat de France. Ces deux nouveaux coureurs seront donc dans le même team que Jules Denel qui semble s'y complaire."

As a rising star in the PWA, Dany has recently made a name for himself by looping the artificial waves of the Siam park in Tenerife with a little help from a jetski. Since Dany is already sailing Severne rigs and knows many of the best riders of the Starboard Dream Team, signing him for 2011 was the next logical step for both parties.
